Our household expenses are rent is $1, 415 a month. My cell phones (3 lines)is $215, cable $159, car insurance$110, electric $80-100. Not to mention miscellaneous expenses throughout the month. What do your monthly expenses total out to be? What can you live without or cut back on?

I envy you. Wish most of my mail wasn't someone asking me for money.

Bought a short sale house $70,000, mortgage is $549, do not have cable , use antanae for free and get about 56 stations and the majors, family plan for my flip phone(10) , watch freemovies on Catch 22 , shop ebay and Salvation Army for clothes, find many things new with tags! Eat at home alot, saves time and money , in the long run. Most of our activities are outside , free, lots of potluck BBq's with friends. Overall by simplifying we have money to take a nice vacation once a year with our grandsons and some long weekend outings, where we splurge a little. I find it easy to cut back when there is a grander plan in mind. I think renting is out of control.

no mortgage/rent payment

no cell phone bill

no car payment

auto/home insurance is $499/month

electric avg. $275/month (everything except heat is electric)

landline/internet/satellite TV - $160

personal loan pymt $150

family loan pymt $300

life insurance for DH and I $44

trash removal $25

I could probably cut out satellite TV, trash removal.

We still have to pay for groceries, property taxes, gas for vehicles, etc.
