Not sure about the cords because we count by the farm truck load. Mom & dad need 5 more loads, my brother needs at least 8, sister needs 12-15 and we need at least 12 more. Hopefully mom & dad will get finished this week.. My sister & her dh help during the week. We're working on ours at our house this week as well and then we're moving on to my sisters wood during the week.

I'll be honest in that I'm not even sure how big a cord is. We've just never measured it in cords.

It's been a pretty good day so far. Tomorrow is a wood chopping day. We're not even 1/2 way done with getting all the families the wood they need to burn and winter is coming quick this year.

How much wood do you need for the winter?  Just curious, we just had 2 cords delivered, we're in Maryland.  Our winters are either fine or hideous.

I'm not really sure how big a cord is (I know a cord here costs $225), I think it came in two pickups.  You need a LOT of wood, girl!  Where are you?  I'm in Maryland, we have a fireplace on each end of the house so betweem the two we stay nice and toasty.  Farmers Almanac is calling for a nasty winter.

Where in Maryland are you? I don't have a fireplace, but I do have some dead trees on my property that you can cut down and take for free....

Ha!  Northern Baltimore County.  Usually my husband cuts all the wood but he just had neck surgery (he still wanted to do it anyway, I put my foot down).

Shoot. I'm in Dundalk. And some of the quotes I've gotten from people to trim these suckers and knock down the dead ones are up to $15,000. I've trimmed all of the lower branches, but I have vertigo issues on ladders higher than 8 feet. I don't have the tools either. :(

Tree trimmers are so expensive!  We've had it done quite often, I think the one company we used that wasn't as high as the others was called "Eager Beavers" or something like that.  There must be someone out there who would offer to cut down those trees for firewood since it's so expensive?  Maybe CraigsList?  Good luck!

Thank you. I'll look them up. I did have a couple who trimmed the holly tree and the magnolias last year because they make wreaths & sell at the farmer's market. I hope they come by again this year.

If they do I'll offer them some cash to trim the pine trees....
