1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup ( 6 ounces) semi sweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the margarine until light, about 1 minute. Beat in the sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Beat until fluffy.
Stir in the flour mixture.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop the dough by well-rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, flattening the mounds slightly so they will spread.
Bake until lightly golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer to racks to cool completely.
Be careful not to over bake these cookies. A little underdone and moist inside tastes better than a little overdone and dry inside.
