In another post Beth Asked if we would ever enter a cooking contest if the opportunity arose. I would and  if I  did,  this is the recipe that I have been told could win.

Hungary Man Soup

2lbs of Hamburger

3 TBLS minced onions

3 TBLS celery flakes

3 TBLS dried parsley flakes.

64 oz. Tomato juice

32 oz . of water.

16 oz of sliced mushrooms

2 ) 1 4.5 oz . cans of cut green beans (drained)

4 ) 14.5oz. cans of stewed tomatoes.

1 med head of cabbage

2-4 beef bouillon cubes

Brown hamburger, onions, celery & parsley flakes.

Add salt and pepper to taste. Drain off fat.

Add all ingredients together in soup pot and simmer.

I usually add grated parm cheese as a garnish. yum.

This makes a huge pot of soup, but it never goes to waste. Friends and Family always expect some when I make it.

There's the soup recipe I was waiting for!!!  Thanks, Cheryl.  I bet my mom would LOVE this!!  I'll have to save it and make it for her soon.

I love soups....this one sounds delicious.  But, like Shayne, my DH wouldn't eat it, so I'd have to freeze as well.

I feel sorry for all you ladies with picky men. My husband will eat just about anything, lol. He only hates pickles, cherries and dill, but even pickles he will eat if they are the homemade ones I make. Cherries, he will eat if they are not marchino
