 That's right. . .I'm giving you a breakfast/dessert recipe this time:)

BLUEBERRY FANCY

1 loaf Italian bread, cubed, divided

1 pint blueberries, divided

8 oz cream cheese, cubed, divided

6 eggs

1-1/2 cups milk

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Place half the bread cubes in the slow cooker.  Drop half the blueberries over the top of the bread.  Sprinkle half the cream cheese cubes over the blueberries.  Repeat.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla.  Pour over all ingredients.

Cover and cook on Low until the dish is custardy and set. (sorry, it doesn't give a time)  Serve with maple syrup or blueberry sauce.

I wonder if I can do this with regular bread or if it would be too soggy.

Don't like blueberries. Wonder how this would work with other fruits. Sounds good except for the blueberries.

Hmmm. . .don't know.  I would imagine it would need to be a "stiffer" or maybe even more of a stale bread?  But I'm not sure. . .I've never made anything like a bread pudding before, and this sounds very similar.

Oh, my goodness, I would think the fruit possibilities would be endless!  Currants, raspberries, blackberries, peaches. . .
