Who doesn't like a steaming bowl of soup on a cold winter day? In my opinion, it's the fastest way to beat a chill, or an oncoming case of the sniffles for that matter. I just made this fab potato clam chowder soup and it was creamy, hearty and everything you'd ever want in a bowl. Plus, it was quick to make and the family literally loved every bite. Serve with some nice French bread, and you've got a great meal.
4 cups hot water
1 box (4.7 oz) Betty Crocker® au gratin potatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt, if desired
1 cup Green Giant® Valley Fresh SteamersTM Niblets® frozen corn
1 cup Green Giant® SELECT® frozen broccoli florets
3 cups milk
1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
2 cans (6 1/2 ounces each) minced clams, undrained
- Heat water, Potatoes and salt to boiling in 3-quart saucepan. Boil 20 minutes; drain.
- Stir in Sauce Mix and remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat; simmer uncovered about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender.
Moms, what are your favorite wintertime soups?
I dont eat clams or any other seafood but I bet my hubby would love it!
i have not had clam chowder soup in a long time..minestrone, tomato, chicken noodle (if its homemade) are my favorites..cheesy potato soup in the crock pot is another favorite.
