You might not be able to get to the grill everyday this summer, but on cooler days, there's no reason that you can't use the oven. Throw in your favorite barbeque sauce to the recipe and you've got a top-notch meal fit for a summer crowd. This recipe for Oven Barbequed Swiss Steak is hearty and full of flavor.
1 (14.5-oz.) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (12-oz.) jar beef gravy
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1 cup Green Giant® Niblets® Frozen Corn
1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
1 1/2 lb. boneless beef round steak, cut into serving-sized pieces
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
6 cups hot mashed potatoes
- Heat oven to 325°F. In ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish, combine tomatoes, gravy and barbecue sauce; blend well. Add corn and onion; mix well. Place beef pieces in mixture; spoon mixture over beef. Cover with foil.
- Bake covered at 325°F. for 1 hour 30 minutes or until beef is fork-tender. Sprinkle with parsley. To serve, spoon mashed potatoes into individual shallow bowls. Top each with beef and vegetable mixture.
Moms, what is your favorite barbeque themed dish?
Thanks for sharing.
That looks so good! I love bbq burgers, hot dogs, chicken, ribs, sausage, corn, pork steak, chops and more...
I love barbeque and I love swiss steak so it sounds like a win win for me
BBQ chicken or BBQ pulled pork are two favorites here. Both can be made in the crockpot before I'll turn on the oven in the summertime lol.
