I've been with Derrick for ten years now, and he's always avoided my meatloaf. He hates meatloaf...just like many others. I agree that mom's meatloaf was greasy and soggy, and the old-fashioned meatloaf was made with oats or pieces of bread and little to no flavor, but not MY meatloaf. My meatloaf has tons of flavor and is not greasy at all. Anyone I've ever met that says they hate meatloaf has always fallen in love with mine.
This weekend, I decided ten years was long enough for Derrick to complain about not liking meatloaf while refusing to try mine. (He made the mistake of telling me that he'd tried his ex-wife's meatloaf......reeeeaaaalllly? Then you HAVE to try mine. lol)
So, I fixed meatloaf last night, but I rolled my mixture into individual "hot dogs" and put them on fancy hot dog buns. I made fried potatoes and baked beans to go along with it. Guess what? He LOVED it. Said he'd never tasted anything like it. Hmmm....that's what I've been saying all along, isn't it???!!! lol
Have you ever "converted" anyone with one of your dishes?
