Does anybody know how to cook rice in a crockpot?  Any good recipes?  I got a 20 pound bag of rice, but no rice cooker, and these next few weeks are going to be hectic and having that rice in the crockpot would be an amazing help!

I think I will.  I'll let you know what happens.  I'm also going to try it with soup for a few hours.  I have two crockpots.  lol

Why don't you just dump 1 cup rice and two cups water in on low and see what happens? We like refried rice, so I make extra to fry in butter and olive oil the next day.

I love my crockpots, a big one and a small one. For holidays I put mashed in the big one and gravy or squash in the small one so I can make them early ahead of time. I have a pampered chef rice steamer that is wonderful, for doing it quickly in the microwave. I've been worried about the recent news reports of arsenic in rice, and started rinsing rice before I cook it in my big strainer. Chicken rice soup with lots of poultry seasoning done in the crockpot is Yum!
