Is it normal to get tired after you eat?

Every day after dinner I want a nap. Of course, the kids do not.

I'm giving away an amazing free hand sanitizer and a free bottle of organic raw honey on my blog.

It happens to me too if I eat too much or eat something that may take a while to break down.

You may have some type of food allergy.........or you have eaten too much.........however, everyone has a 'down' time during the day, if you don't eat at the normal time and get tired anyway, then it's just your 'down' time..........if you know you only get tired after eating, it could mean your food isn't digesting properly.........

There are foods that make you sleepy.  I feel that way all the time.

If you are eating meat, and/or "white foods" (white pasta, white rice, sugar, etc.); then yes, it is normal.

Build meals around whole grains, legumes, and vegetables.

I would say if you had just eaten say a bagel or a bowl of pasta...it can just sit in your belly making you tired.  Try eating more protein and veggies!
