I think it depends on what you eat. If you eat carbs for dinner such as mashed potatoes, white rice, garlic bread, noodles, etc, and you eat until you are over full you will fill very tired afterwards. If you eat dark greens, and other colorful veggies during your dinner and only eat enough to make you not hungry, not over full, you should fill less tired after dinner. Also drink a lot of water, especially with your dinner.

we do eat meat, but I don't eat a ton of white carbs, only whole grains. Should I try no carbs at all?
When I use to eat grains even allegedly healthy ones like oatmeal or carbs I would get VERY tired, like almost DRUGGED tired and could barely keep my eyes open within 15-20 min of eating.
I dont eat grains or sugars anymore and that doesnt happen to me anymore.
I think it also depends on how long since your last meal. Blood sugar issues can cause sleepiness after eating. If this is something new and you are experiencing other symptoms like extreme thirstiness (and the extra potty trips that goes with it) a different taste in your mouth when you wake up or extremely foul smelling urine (especially first thing in the morning), you may want to check with your doctor about it.
