My sister-in-law was recently hired as a personal care attendant for a family that she knows. Just so happens that my MIL knows the family as well, so she suggested I work whatever hours my SIL couldn't do or the extra ones. Now Im not 100% when or if I'll work b/c I think my MIL is doing this job as well.
The job is this:
I take care of a 10 year old little girl who can't walk, talk, or eat on her own. She has a seizure disorder, cerebral palsy, a shunt, and a g-tube. Her mom was an alcoholic, did drugs, smoked, and never once received prenatal care. She also has hydrocephalus, which I believe is fluid on the brain hence the shunt. I give her meds, give her her food, change diapers, and basically make sure she's okay. Im glad I have a job but I hate that it has to be like that. She is such a sweetheart! :(
