Main stream movies that may as well have been soft core porn. (drive angry, Nicholas cage's last movie)

I also try to avoid horror and the movies that are so gory there's no plot line.

I tend to not watch movies with nudity. or if the whole movie is about drugs, drinking, sex I won't watch it.

If I start watching a movie and the violence never ends I usually just kind of zone out and do other things.

Lots of things:

Broadcast news

Horror movies, thrillers, psychological thrillers and horror porn...

Tear jerkers

...

I noticed a long time ago the connection between what I let into my head and my view of the world.

I don't need more reasons to feel cynical and sarcastic about humans... I certainly don't need horrifying images in my head.

This is a big reason why I don't let my kids watch everything. I want to protect their innocence as long as I can.

1 mom liked this

Something Jim Henson said once really stuck with me:

If something is 'unsuitable for younger viewers' where is the evidence that it is suitable for older viewers?

Which got me thinking: where is there any evidence that adults can handle gory images, shocking news, horror or thriller ideas or disturbing scenes?

I don't like gory movies. And porn is just pointless and dumb to me!

Porn is hilarious. Or sad. Or dull.

I'm not a fan of really gory shows/movies. My husband loves Spartacus-- but i can't watch it b/c it is too graphic for my taste.

I feel that part of the reason society is so screwed up is because we are desensitized to really graphic events, or serious issues. Nothing is 'shocking' anymore. I feel that is *part* of the reason murders, sex crimes, and violence are on the rise. Some people can see no wrong with the crimes any longer.
