So today i was going through DS1's old clothes seeing what we will need for DS2. DS1  was being so possessive over his old clothes. Why does he care so much about things he dosen't wear anymore..Sometimes I just dont understand kids.

Kids are like that everything is Mine Mine Mine.. I usually go through my dd's clothes when she's not here.

How old is ds1 and how much does he like ds2?

My ds1 loves the idea of his brother getting his clothes that he's too big for.

Ds 1 is 28 months old and he dosent really know about ds2 since he's not born yet.

If he's a toddler, you have your answer. Everything is theirs.

It can be really hard for kids to adjust to a new sibling. He may feel like you are giving away all his stuff to the new baby. Or that he's being replaced.
Have you tried sitting him down and talking to him about it all?

Maybe he is like my dd. She is very possesive about her things -from clothes to toys to whatever. She has a tough time letting go! So I get her really excited to give her things away and now, it's not too hard.

Good luck!

Oh! He's just a baby. You can't put the expectation on him that he is going to understand such a complex feeling as generosity and seperation from his belongings. Sorry hun. At this age I just don't think he would understand.
