Kids Thank Veterans and Active Military Members Call for Photo Submissions! Enter Today!
In honor of Veteran's Day and to help educate our kids about the amazing
work and dedication of our veterans and active military members, we need
your help for an extra-special Veteran's Day project! We¹re asking you to
talk to your kids about the extraordinary service of our veterans and active
military and then to encourage them to write a thank-you note to share with
our readers. The thank you note can be directed towards veterans in general,
a specific veteran or serviceperson, or the military as a whole. All photo
messages entered will be considered by The Stir staff for possible inclusion
in a special Veteran's Day feature on The Stir.
We will begin taking photo submissions starting today, October 24, 2011,
until Friday, November 4, 2011. Our top picks will be featured in a special
Veteran's Day post on Friday, November 11, 2011.
How to Enter:
Help or encourage your child (or children) to write a short thank-you
message (20 words or less on a large piece of paper or poster board) to our
veterans, a specific veteran or active serviceperson, or the military as a
Take a horizontal photo of your child(ren) holding up the thank-you message.
Upload your photo to our Veteran's Day 2011 photo album.
Please include: 1) your child¹s first name, 2) your child¹s age, 3) the state where you live, and 4) any information about your message thatmight be important.
· Photos should be of children only (any age), and the kid(s) should be holding up a thank-you message for the military.
· Thank-you messages should be short (under 20 words), legible, and easy to read.
· No blurry photos please.
· Submitted photo files should be a minimum width of 500 pixels.
· Photos shot in natural light (no flash) on the horizontal tend to look best.
Limit of ONE submission per family.
