Okay so my mil has this crib that's about 60 years old and wants to get from her dad and put it together and have my daughter sleep in it when she stays over or during nap time.

I don't feel very comfortable with that and I'm not sure how to bring it up because she's they type that don't care to listen unless you tell her a million times or tell her "because her doctor said"

What would you ladies do?

*UPDATE*

So I inspected the crib and and it is a slide down crib and the slates (I guess? Like the bars were too spread apart) so i told my mil and about the dangers of what could happen. So she is going to walmart tomorrow to buy her a pack and play! YAY ^_^

I would politely decline while offering another sleeping arrangement.

I've tried and she's still pushing for it.

Just tell her you have done research and cribs have changed majorly since then due to safety issues. Stand your ground and just be polite! If she doesn't pick up on it then ya might have to be a lil rude which is no fun but needed!

If it's just during naps at gramma's house and not an all night every night thing, I don't see why not.

As long as you know it does not have leaded paint I'd not be too worried.

Tell her NO WAY, I would NOT let my baby sleep in that!

Tough one. I would inspect the crib, measure the slats, I'm anal lol. And if it really was ok, I wouldn't care. But it it didn't meet the standards I would tell her no. And if she couldn't listen she wouldn't have my child overnight or during nap time.

well that's good. A pack and play is perfect for a grandma's house.
