Be constistent with what you are doing. For example: you can't let him mouth off to you one time and another out him in time for it.

1 mom liked this

ask him to stop being mouthy, if he doesn't ask him which one of his toys is his favorite and have him pick it up to show you,

then walk to the trash and have him toss it in.

Only had to do that ONCE, they learn real fast after that that you mean business.

Or time outs

Dealing with a mouthy toddler is so frustrating! Good luck. I'm curious to see what advice is given.

My 3 yr old is quite mouthy too. I threaten to put vinegar in his mouth. Just the threat of it usually works :)

i try as har as i can to be consistent. i havent thrown away a toy (for this) yet, but they get takn away pretty often. he can earn them back by being good. and he doesnt mind the taste of vonegar, so that one doesnt work for him. i did it twice for cursing, and after that he asked to have some vinegar. he is the strangest kid whe  it comes to foo. he isnt even the least bit a poicky eater, which i a greatful for. im glad he didnt get his food habits from me. lol. my dad has eter luck getting him to listne that i do. he has a can am commander (like a plaris ranger or jd gator) that he tak my son for rides in. if he s naughty he doesnt get rides and oesnt get o watch papa fly the rc helicopter. i wish we had more fun toys to take away when he is naughty. sometimes his attitude gets so bad i almost want ot bang my head against the wall and i feel like im an epic failure because i can get him to mind!
