Family Values Challenge Day 7: Keep Traditions -- and Start New Ones!
Whether it's holiday traditions, nightly family dinners, weekly game nights, etc., these are the things your kids will remember -- and hopefully do with their own families one day. Today's activity is to have a family dinner -- and then continue to eat together as often as you can!
Spending time with your kids and doing things -- even little things -- as a family are the things that make your kids feel secure, included, and important -- and the things they look forward to and find comfort in. So why not start a new tradition today?
What are your favorite family traditions? Do you try to eat as a family whenever you can?
If you missed
yesterday's activity, you can find it here. If you want to sign up
for the Family Values Challenge, you can do so here.
Today is actually a bit different, We are having a bigger family dinner then normal. We're celebrating my father in law's birthday and also my sister in law's birthday's, by having dinner. We do this for each member of our family, celebrate with birthday dinners..
Anyhow, on a daily basis I do make meals to where everyone sits together to eat. Dh & I also started having movie nights with the kids and going on more family outings. Usually we end up spending good amounts together more then "planned" because our home is a bit smaller so its easy for family time.
I am starting my own holiday traditions more and more every year, I am prayerfully hoping that we get our own home thats a bit bigger then where we live right now so that we can have more family-extended holiday dinners, Have relatives over for just random family gatherings to..
My daughter and grandson's live in another state and all my other family lives out of state as well. So we only get together now for holidays.
We have family days every Monday and around Christmas we make our own ornaments and pick a theme :)
