My husband was in the navy for 10 years, he got sick while on active duty.  He had a hard mass on his right side by his ribcage(looks like a bruise).  His hands are swollen 100% of the time so the navy discharged him cause he couldnt do his job anymore.  He has had so many tests and everything comes out normal, and if you just base his health on his bloodwork, he would be perfectly healthy, but he is in pain 24/7 and no one has any answers for him.  He has applied for ssd and they denied him based on a job he had when he was 16 years old!!!!  Its so frustrating to see him in pain and not know what to do to help him and for the docs to basically give up on him, causing him to be complacent and give in to what they say.  We are going on a different medical route because none of his meds are working so we will be using serrapeptase to hopefully ease his pain, if only a little bit.  Just wish there was a Dr. like Dr. House then I would move heaven and earth to get him seen.

You have to find the right doctor to diagnose him. I don't know where you live but you have to find out who is the best around. Sometimes you have to travel a little bit. I had to do this with my daughter. Keep us updated!

I just went through this myself. I saw 4 doctors before I finally got a diagnosis. Just keep seeing someone else. Eventually you'll find a dr with a brain. Good luck!

thats what gets me so frustrated!  I have found him several dr's but they all scratch their heads when the blood tests come back clean.  I even called the scleroderma doc in chicago( the mass on his right side came back as scleroderma), but none of his other symptoms fit with that so i dont want to do all that way for nothing

Not sure where you live but you may want to consider going to Mexico. My family treats with with an American Dr. In Tijuana that actually TREATS his patients. There are many Dr.s here that go over there and have an American client base because they say in America the medical field is run by insurance companies who prevent them from doing what they were trained to do. Of course it is on a cash basis but you may want to do some research on that. If you decide on that route be very very careful though. Good luck!!!

How far is Chicago? Just because his other symptoms aren't pointing to scleroderma, doesn't mean it's not. At this point , it might be worth it. Also, if the specialist determines its not, then they may know where else to send you.

I know how it is, but I was lucky. When I had my health issue I was 4 hour from the univ of mich.
