Pack ahead! Think portable, non-perishable, and healthy. Dried apricots, granola bars, apples, bananas, oranges, nuts, etc., etc. You can buy in bulk at a wholesale club or clip coupons and stock up when snacks are on sale at your grocery store. Carry reusable water bottles as well and you can refill them pretty much anywhere! You'll notice a savings right away when you stop buying snacks on the fly.
What kind of snacks do you bring along with you? Do you have any tips for saving money on snacks?

Well I am trying to loose weight so I have been bringing fresh fruit with me to work and trying to preplan my meals and not hit the vending machine at work (on day 3....so far so good). I try to watch sale adds to buy what is on sale and i also price match alot of local produce at walmart so i can shop at one store.
as a rule, eating out, buy snacks, anything like that, is a treat for us. not something done everyday or every week. I buy bulk snacks cuz in the long run it's just cheaper. when we make certain things around here, we do extra so the kids have them for later. we dehydrate too. I don't always stick to this but I try.
we went to disney world and universal over the summer, we bought snacks ahead of time and actually packed them in a suit case. each day before we left the hotel, we would load up our fanny packs with snacks and fill our water bottles. it was a life saver cuz the snacks in those places cost a small fortune!

We did the water thing yesterday at Megacom, I had my big water bottle and just refilled it through the day, we pack snacks for outings, it's expensive to stop at convenience stores and in fast food places for crappy foods.
