Road Trip with Toddlers

I am going to be going on a road trip to visit my husband in Oklahoma this June.  I will be traveling with my two little girls, ages 3 and 1 1/2 from Salt Lake City, UT.  It is about a 19 hour drive and I will be all by myself.  I am wondering if any of you have tips on keeping the kids entertained/planning ahead/stops to make, etc.  I'm kind of nervous about going by myself.  Any input will be appreciated.  Thank you! family car

1 mom liked this

The easiest thing we've found is to drive during the night so that DD sleeps through 95% of the drive.

That is a really good suggestion.  Do you have any games/car activities that you put together for them?  What kind of things do you take with you to entertain them during the drive?

We got dual 9" dvd players for $140 at best buy. Cheaper than the 7" of the same brand.

Landon was 2.5 when we moved from cali back to kansas. We packed a lot of toys and snacks. For our upcoming vacation, im going to get the kids color wonder packets.

We also made cds (I guess it would be an mp3player now LOL) of all sing along songs and songs the kids liked at the time. We never planned our stops ahead of time because with 3 little ones back them they let us know when to stop no matter how close it was to the "planned stops!" good luck, and they may just love it!
