I have two....both with my oldest...
When he was around 2 months old, my ex and I attended to him crying and found him hanging by his neck between the mattress and the bar of the crib. Till this day I won't ever use a crib.
Also this past december days after christmas he was tooken to the doctor for a rash. Turned out he had itp and was shipped to childrens hospital in syracuse and admitted to the cancer floor where he had a platlet count of 5000( normal range over 400,000) if he fell would bruise or if hit head could bleed on the brain. He is healthy as can be now.

I think at the time, my DD was around 9 months old, she was starting tio get a hang of crawling... so I was feeding her vegeteble soup, the vegetables were medium sized, bu t I smushed them for her on her plate, she grapped a piece of potatoe.. and threw it to the floor. but I didnt realize she had done that. I though she was just waiving her arms.. when we were done eating, I put her on the floor so she could crawl around, whil ei cleaned the high chair and o you know the routine :D I steppes away for 30 seonds to take the plates to the kitchen and when I wsa back, I saw her grab somethignand shove it into her mouth, she immediatley started making gaging sounds.. iwas s=o scared i FORGOT THE FIRS AID COURSES, and ran with my babie in rms to my neighbors house, she is a nurse, she saw the color in my dd face and knew instantly, she performed the basic steps to get the piece of potatoe outt of her mouth, thsi was all in lees than 1 minute, but it was the longest minute of my life... needless to saym after the incident... whe stayed on the high chair while I cleaned up after her feedings....
On vacation in Hawaii - my son was 8 years old - we rode horses to an outlying spot where we transversed down the switchback to get to a waterfall - My son asked me to step away so that he could change into his swim suit - I was torn between protect and respect - I choose respect - I turn back around and see nothing - I mean nothing - I look over the cliff and I see God's son on the leadge beneath me about 80 feet down - he's stumbling and not making any noises - I scream - "Sit Down" "Sit Down" "Sit Down". He sits and the second most beautify sound I have ever hear was his screaming - because I knew he still was alive - Something has stretched my heart and I am grateful that I am becoming a better person due to the first scream.
