Am I alone?

Went to my son's first birthday party that wasn't a family members. Was a friend of his from school. It was not too good tho. Got some dirty looks and only my son's friend mom talked to me but once the family and her friends showed up that was it. I was a complete loner and felt like such a loser. :( I tried talking to other women but no go. They were very short with me so finally I stopped. I just want to make some friends but goodness seems so hard at times.
I know I sound like such a baby and stupid just needed to vent really.
Anybody else have this problem?

I never have, but if I were you I wouldn't go again, did your friend even introduce you to anyone?

She really isn't a friend...was hoping she would be since I do not know any moms here. But she introduced me to her husband and her mom saying this is Dominic's mom. I was like okay my name is Veronica but nobody listened. I didn't leave since my son was playing with his friend and that would be the last time they see each other since they will be going to different schools next year.

It is harder to make friends as you get older but I've never been in that situation. My dd has gone to classmate's parties but parents were never invited to stay.

IMO that's absolutely ridiculous! It sucks cause your son and him are friends and that kind of puts you in a tight spot ):

Then I'd just let it go. It sucks bad, but there is nothing you can really do. You can always grind other ppl that will want to be your friend and actually treat you like one

Hugs...Yea wasn't easy since I just felt really unwanted there. I was going to sit down and someone told their child to sit in the empty space just so I wouldn't. So I stood for 3 hours and watched my son play till the party was officially over and finally we could leave. :( I just don't get it.
