School Supply Lists are out

Posted by   + Show Post

in this area anyway. I walked into Walmart this morning and there were the towers just full of lists. My dd is going into the 4th grade and this is her list:

  • 2 boxes of facial tissue
  • Crayons (really? still? ugh!)
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • 1 Highlighter
  • Pencils
  • 2 Pocket Folders
  • Spiral Notebooks
  • 2 packs loose leaf wide-rules paper =|

Not too bad I guess.

Is your list out yet? Is it worse than this?

I would contact the school. At our old school there was an angel fund and there were also many things donated. You may be able to get some help.

Is it a private school?

Quoting blessedwith:

I still need to order school.  Aside from that I think their notebooks and expand-a-files are fine, so I will need notebook paper, art suppllies, pencils, and pens.  That's it.

It is the curriculum that costs me a bunch of money....

It's the most exclusive school you can imagine.  Gotta have the same DNA as the teacher to attend.  However, the teacher to student ratio is hard to beat....6:1

I haven't seen them for this year yet but last year I was sooo mad, the list involved things for the teachers and other students for example they had over 50 pencils 12 red pens 3 boxes of tissue, 6 glue sticks, 4 large elmers glue sticks 15 yes 15 comp notebooks, 3 24 packs of crayons.. 3 things of markers, 3 things colored pencils, stapels, and red markers, dry erase markers, chalk, all in large amounts..plus the normal pencil box, erasers, loose leaf paper, and much much more... I'm sorry but my kid uses only maybe 5 comp note books and ten pencils all year, no red pens and maybe 2 glue sticks, why the school feels it my place to stock their school rooms upsets me, and on top of this they ask for things all throughout the year, I buy what my kid needs and send in a LITTLE extra, and make sure the teacher and my kid know if something is needed to let me know and ill send it in, I'm not able to afford to supply extra for other kids and to stock the classroom and teachers desk....
