Late one night, Dh and I are talking about the upcoming primary election for our county. I told him I was thinking about voting for _________ for sheriff rather than __________. It was then he told me, after finding out I'm registered as an independent, that you had to switch affiliation in order to vote and the deadline had already passed. Are you @#%£% kidding me?! Our state decided to keep the parties from throwing elections by voting in a weaker opponents so they decided the best way was to only let that particular party vote. So frustrating!

Thanks. Normally I wouldn't mind but I really wanted to vote on the sheriff. Lol. Dh is a deputy and i have "issues" with two of the candidates running.

When I registered to vote, I didn't have to put an affiliation to any party.

You don't have to in the main election. It's the primary that has been changed to where on republicans can vote. I don't think any of our county candidates are even democrats.... O.o
