Welcome to Mom to Mom's Tuesday Coffee Break!

Clay Aiken makes a post on Twitter and gets called out on it by John Rich.
Clay's post?
"
Playing drinking game with my brother now. We drink every time we see a black person on screen at the RNC convention. #soberasamormon."

Click HERE for more on the story.

1. How do you feel about Clay's post?

2. Do you agree with John Rich for "calling him out on it"?

3. Regardless of the content, do you enjoy people's political posts on social media or are you sick and tired of them?

I do enjoy a debate but not on twitter. I would rather watch or listen to it. I think calling someone out on Twitter is rude. I say why not just send the person a direct message on twitter cause they have mailboxes for a reason. I will take a green chai latte please

I think Clay Aiken's point was that the Republican National Convention is not the most ethnically diverse gathering. He did so in a humorous way. Rich jumped on claiming racism, but I really don't think that was the case. Caramel Mocha please.

No matter how he meant it, it was still inappropriate.

I'm surprised that he is making racist comments. Isn't he gay? Would he like it for someone to make a joke about that?

From what I understand, yes he is.

Clay was making the point that Republicans generally hold policies that do not promote the well being of African Americas in this country (or anywhere!) as well as some policies that actively subjugate Blacks.  Hence, the lack of African Americans at the Republican Convention.

It wasn't a raciest comment.  He is gay, but what does that have to do with anything?  Someone can easily hide being gay, you can't hide being black.  Regardless, it wasn't racist.
