Do you find a realtor first and they get you pre approved?

Dh got approved for a va loan. Then started looking.

That's not how I did it...and man do I wish I would have! Take my advice. Get a realtor, get pre-approved through a bank you are comfortable dealing with. No sense looking for a house if you have no idea what you can spend! While looking at houses, TAKE NOTES! After you look at so many houses, you won't remember what you liked/hated about any of them! When you do find one you love...get a home inspection! I can't stress that one enough. GL finding your new home!

We just bought a house and we got pre approved first then looked for houses.

You need to know how much you get approved for before looking so that when you go look you know what price range you can stay in.
