Creative Play Challenge Day 2: “Sort” Out Your Holiday!

Posted by   + Show Post

Starting around 18 months, toddlers begin to notice differences and commonalities between objects-which means it's time to sort and group!Today, take some of your holiday decorations, food items, or gifts, and work together to "sort" them by color, size, shape, texture, or type. For older kids, increase the complexity of the items you sort or the categories you sort them in.

(Tip: Sorting Cubes and Block Assortments are both great toys to help build these sorting skills.)

We did this 2 nights ago w/ ds. We had sausage and cheese for dinner and he had to sort them out by shape. Then we did it by color and then by name. We also did it w/ ornaments.

my kids I dont think woudl like this one but I do have them when we decorate the tree they get to each pick 2 colored bulbs that they are in charge of putting on the tree so I guess that would be kind a sorting thing cause they have to sort through the bulbs to get their colors out of the box with all the decorations.
