Whether you're traveling far away, or just around the corner this holiday season, try some silly car games to keep your children entertained. For example, in the game "What Am I?" each person in the car takes a turn describing an animal, insect, or object without naming it. Then, the other family members or car companions try to guess what it is by asking questions. The "Tell a Silly Story" game involves each family member adding a silly sentence to a unique, utterly imaginative story that changes every time you tell it!

we used to play I spy games-as we watched the road signs/ads.Or we would play cribbage with the license plates when we were older. We always were playing some sort of games that made us look out the window for stuff on the road or road signs.Made us better aware of our surroundings.
my daughter is only 2 so she doesnt play many games but she likes to point EVERYTHING out to me which makes the trip go faster
We play a game where the boys try to keep an eye out, one watching each side of the highway, to catch and count all the big rigs that drive past. Even on short trips, they see a surprising number of them. It keeps them occupied because they do not want to miss even one and end up with a lower count.
