they get to open the gift from each other
We usually open at least one gift on Christmas Eve. I got them each a new set of pajamas so I will at least let them open those on Christmas Eve. Last year we ended up opening all of them on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day we just had Santa presents and stockings. That actually worked out well because then we were able to get to my grandparents house early and help her more with getting lunch ready. We always do a huge things at my grandparents house on Christmas Eve and open presents with all the family and then on Christmas Day we go back and eat more and have a more relaxing day of playing games (dominos, cards, board games) and stuff all day.
We let my dd open 1 or 2 gifts from us on Christmas eve.
We always open one gift on Christmas Eve, then the rest on Christmas day.
When I was married and my big kids were young, they opened their gifts from each other on Christmas Eve. Now those kids are grown, and as a result of the divorce and parenting plan, we alternate Christmas Eve/Christmas (first half of Christmas break begins at the start of the school break and ends Christmas morning; the second half begins on Christmas and ends when school resumes). Santa has to come on HER schedule.
We have a Christmas party at my in-laws and they open most of them there. But, we have a few special gifts that we refuse to let them open until Christmas Day.
We open ours December 21.
German tradition (s/o family ) has us open all presents on Christmas Eve.
Well they get gifts from thier grandparents on Christmas Eve so they don't get any from us until Christmas Day.
