Ds is 6 years old. We live in a small rural town. Ds is Vietnamese, & is the only Asian child in his predominantly white school. Yesterday at basketball practice (he's on the school team,) ds made a basket. His coach congratulated him (ds has been working on getting better at this).. But I'm a little concerned, because he congratulated him by saying "way to go, little Yeo Ming!"
Yeo Ming is a retired pro ball player, famous for being Asian and for being over 7 ft tall.
Ds is really tall for his age.
I didn't say anything about it, but the more I think about it, I wonder..should I have been mad? Was he picking on ds for being asian? Should I talk to his coach about it? Or am I just being a tight ass about it & over analyzing?
