Probably just someone in the spectrum that has something barely wrong with her, and they'll use it to her advantage as a sob story

But she can help with awareness. Especially to those who feel negative about the topic due to ignorance.

That's true, I just hate when people try to use a disability to try and get a sympathy vote when it comes to some sort of competition

I really don't think that's what she's trying to do. I'm almost certain the only reason that it's in the article that she has Autism is because that is the platform she uses. Which even holds more for awareness since she has Autism.
