I fill the sink to the very top with HOT water and then add a cup of bleach and let set overnight. I've had mostly white sinks though so idk if this will work with stainless steal. I do this about once a month (or so). The rest of t he time I just wipe it down wit a soapy washcloth.
i use bleach but if you wan to go a non chemical route and if your not sensative to smells you can use a white vinger and lemon juice mix. it does work quite well
My sink doesn't rust or anything. I always wash it with dish soap and wipe it out when I'm done with the dishes. If it needs a little extra cleaning I use a multi purpose industrial cleaner DH brings me from his work.
I use my e cloth, after dishes are done for the night. BTW: Bleach doesn't CLEAN, it merely disinfects things. For those using bleach, what is really CLEANING your sinks are the soaking and the mechanical cleaning (your scrubbing) And, I hope you're not on a septic tank, it is horrible on the bacteria you need in there to eat the stuff that goes down itno the tank.
