need help identifying something on hubby *pic*

Please read it all before responding.
My hubby came to me and asked me if this thing on his shoulder was a pimple. It does not look like a pimple. It's got two white "heads) and its an irritated red but its not swollen and hard like any zit, bite or sting I've seen. It's soft and stretched like a mole! What has a spider bite look, with the two puncture holes, is bright red, but soft and squishy? There is no pus or oozing. It is just there. He said its bigger than when he first noticed it. We can't just go to a doctor right now, so I'm asking for your experience, has anyone seen something like this?

I'll do that tonight, he is at work now. Except for the white parts it doesn't look like it has anything to drain. But since its red there is definitely something going on so this is definitely a suggestion to be heeded. Thank you!

Do some hot towel compressions and when it comes to a head. Drain it.

1 mom liked this

I had the dangerous strain of staf infection and it looked like that as well. it turned out to be boils.  it was red around it, looked like a pimple, it hurt if something pushes on it. everyone carries the staff bacteria in their nose it's just some people can become sensitive to it. i went to the doctor and they did a nasal swab a quick test and when it came back positive they gave me bactroban an ointment normally used for ecsama. I put a hot wet rag on it and then put plastic over it to hold the wet and then a heating pad on top sat like that for 10 min to pull the puss out and the core of the boil to the top so it could be removed easily. then i used this special soap you can get at the drug store called hypoclense (sp check) it's a red really liquidy soap. it is a anti bacterial soap that they use in like hospitals. washed with that for a few weeks. after that and possibly some antibiotics just to nip the infection in the bud but i had it for months before we knew what it was. i haven't had a problem with it since. i'd keep it covered loosely either way just so if it is staff infection then it wont spread as easy. that's all the info i have i hope you can get something out of this. it could be either that or a spider bite. it's hard to tell.

Use a hot compress. And see if you can find some prid. Its a drawing salve sold next to the bandaids and such at walmart. Fairly cheap and works great.

I was thinking spider bite or boil. If it gets worse or he has pain make sure he gets to the doctor.

Yep could be , I woke up one night with agonizing pain under my breast and had a similar thing like that. it never oozed or pussed then it just ruptured on its own one day and never seemed to clear up. Also I never had flu symptoms.  I went to the Dr. It was a hobo spider bite, apparantly one liked the warmth of my boobs one night and wanted to snuggle in there. He said I was lucky the rupture didn't persist or they would have had to do surgery to remove it the leison.  He put me on bactricin and antibiotics I still have scar.

It could very well be a spider bite, it doesn't look like a widows or recluse bite.  If he starts getting flu-like symptoms he will need to go to the doc.  It could also be a skin infection.  Has he tried using a hot-pack on it?

Use Neosporin because no matter what it is, it is definitely infected.
Quoting GremlinMom:

No, nothing. Do you have a suggestion?
