What do you think is the best sauce when making spaghetti or any kind of pasta???
For my basic tomato based sauce I put diced tomatos and tomato sauce in a sauce pan on low. I then sautee fresh basil, garlic, diced bell peper, onion, mushrooms (occassionally I will add yellow squash and zuchini). Once those are sautee'd I then add them to the sauce. I cook this all day on low. About an hour before dinner I brown some hamburger meat and add it to the sauce. (drained)

A nice bolognese - that way, I can stuff it full of veggies and my kids have no idea.
I also like carbonara, but it's not very healthy.
Saute diced onion, shredded carrot (a couple of cups), diced mushroom, diced zucchini, and spinach.
Add ground beef. Brown. Drain off grease.
Add a can of tomato paste.
Add diced garlic.
Add some beef stock (or buillion and water).
Add some diced tomatoes.
Simmer for awhile. Lid on if it's thick. Lid off if it's too watery.
Add a bit of milk or cream, just to take a bit of the acidity off.
Thank you sooo much...I will be trying this!

Go to ww.thepioneerwoman.com and search for her bolognese sauce recipe. I modified my recipe from hers. She goes step by step with pictures.
