Or frying, baking etc...Do you use olive oil, crisco or other? I saw on Dr. Oz that after olive oil heats up to a certain temp is no longer healthy for you...It has to be at a warm temp not hot!

Quoting tifbrown:I use olive oil. It cooks great and even over heated olive oil must be healthier than lard haha.

Anything that needs higher heat and prolonged cooking I use veg. Oil. A quick sautee I use olive oil, also as a finishing oil too. I use pan spray for things like pancakes or eggs. Occasionally I will use butter to cook shrimp or other seafood. Mmmmmm butter! To quote Homer Simpson lol!

I use olive oil, vegetable oil, grapeseed oil, peanut oil, coconut oil, and very occasionally crisco and it just depends on what I'm making. Olive oil is generally best for light sautéing and marinades though.
