There was a story on the news last night about a 4yo little girl who was left for 5 hours strapped into her carseat on the daycare van. She was picked up at 8:30am and was supposed to be dropped off at one daycare location, and was left in the van at a different location. Her parents were given a note when they picked her up saying she was left in a van by herself for a couple hours. A NOTE?! Are you effing kidding me?! She was in the van, alone, in the cold from 8:30am to 1:30pm! Her parents met with the daycare director today about the incident. Apparently they have a 3 point check. The driver is supposed to check the van is empty and didn't. Then the assistant director is supposed to come out and check and didn't. Then another employee is supposed to check and didn't. All 3 have been fired. The news updated the story tonight and says that this isn't the first time a child has been left alone in a vehilce for an extended period of time. Why the hell do these people still have a license?!

This is why I never allowed the daycare to transport my children.

I cant even wrap my mind around this, imagining how scared the poor child must have been stuck and alone.

Yup - this. But my kids also had great experiences at daycare.

That's terrible, I'm glad the outcome wasn't even worse. I shutter to think if it had happened on a hot summer day. Not to make light of what the child went through though :(.
