Mom to Mom Mom to Mom

My son is just over 6 months old. For the most part, he's a pretty chill baby. He seems to want to play with himself more than with us, is that normal? Or ami just reading too far into it?

At 6 months everything is still really new to him and he'll find ways to entertain himself. Some babies are just so content that they don't have to be entertained constantly. My second daughter was very much like that. I loved it. My first daughter wasn't like that so it did catch me off guard that a baby would rather play alone rather than interact with someone else, but it was a pretty nice change after having such a demanding first baby.

It's called "parallel play". They want to play beside someone instead of with them.  It's completely normal. My son is going to be one in two weeks and just started expressing that he wants me to play with him more. At six months, I wouldn't expect a baby to want to play with someone else.
