Peeing through his diaper

My 2 year old pees through his diaper probably 80% of the time through the night. He wears a size 5 huggies diaper during the day so we've put him in a size 6 at bed time. He sleeps 12 hours. In the morning he has usually soaked through his diaper and is wearing sopping wet pants.

Any ideas on how I can fix this. DH seems to think potty training him will help. I don't think he's ready for that. Anyone else had this problem? Did you switch diapers?

I'd love to hear your ideas. I've been doing WAY to much laundry lately!

When my daughter did that, we just put her in an overnight diaper and things were much better.  Don't worry - I remember being wigged out by it too, and it was an easy fix.

I never liked Huggies because my son peed over the top through the night. I changed to Pampers or Loves. They both worked fine.

I potty trained my kids very early. I suggest you let him walk around in undies during the day so he can start getting used to it. Start showing him the bathroom and sitting on the toilet so he can think that its fun. I did that with my kids and grandkids before the age of 2 they were all potty trained. Hope this helps!

My ds used to pee through his diapers, but we have started using the target brand diaper. they work wonders  at night

Have him drink less in the evening.  That is was they tell you to do when you are starting to potty train so that the child will make it through the night.  If less liquid goes in the body, less will need to come out!

mys on is 2 1/2 and we are 100% having the same issue. my son drinks like a fish so he's alway filling his diaper. even if i change him right after he goes to sleep he still wakes up with a full diaper again. i thought of buying those overnight ones but haven't yet. i need to remember but i don't want a big box, i just want enough to try out and see if i like first. we use luvs and they are great but overnight not o much. when he was an infant omg! he'd somehow alway pee up his side and back and have bow out diapers. i tried like every brand and then stuck with luvs. lol

We switched to Huggies overnight diapers and haven't had an issue since!

Change him before you go to bed at night. Or limit bedtime liquids.

This happens to both of my children. The overnight diapers help hut are expensive. My mil old me to double up on his diapers at night and use baby powder. It worked. I also cut out and drinks steady an hour before bed b

Mine has started doing this also. He is my second son so I have an idea of what to do. Either use the overnight diapers or stop giving him a cup at bedtime. I may do the cup thing, it's not good for his teeth. You decide what works best for you both.
