Mom to Mom Mom to Mom

Terrible stain laundry question.

Posted by   + Show Post
My MIL got my daughter an uber expensive dress for.christmas, and i pulled it out of the dryer yesterday and it had a rather large mildew stain on it. (I have no idea how). How do I get it out? I have been treating it and washing it since yesterday and it is a little better, but my MIL is going to have a freaking COW (bigger than the one I am having) if she finds out.

Try rubbing tide on it.

So true!

Quoting daylily888:

careful with the peroxide - it can bleach colors

I'd take it to the dry cleaners

Does it have colors in it, or is it white? If it is white, try peroxide, Dawn, and baking soda. If that doesn't work, use RidIron and bleach. If it has colors, you have more of a problem. Try Resolve carpet spot cleaner. It is stronger than laundry treatments. Patch test it first to be sure it won't effect the color. (It usually doesn't, but better safe than sorry) Be sure to re-wash the dress after any of these treatments to clean out the cleansers, especially if it is white and you use RidIron. They can cause skin irritation if they aren't washed again before wearing.
