I like the ones you can personalize!

I like the washable ones, and containers that keep food cold or hot.
Something we like to make sure we have is the handle that you can snap and unsnap to be able to attach it to another bag. We prefer the square or rectangular ones as opposed to the more of a 'bag' style.
I like the Coleman lunchboxes that you can find in the camping section. We got ours at Walmart. They're roomy, very durable, have extra pockets along with a white inner container that pulls out and washes easily. They also work for hot or cold items. That upper mesh pocket you see in the pic is where I put the ice pack. We've had ours for 3 years now and they've held up great.
My parents got my son a soft Cars one. He loves it. It is so easy to wash. There is plenty of room for his food and if we want to send it cold there is a zippered compartment for an ice pack.
