I have been debating on the Ergo infant insert. My last kiddo was 9lbs 7oz 22 inches at birth. So I'm not sure it would be worth it. I think she got up to 12 pounds by about a month to a month and a half. I've heard a lot of people say you can roll blankets & use that instead of the insert. My question is.... how the heck do you do that? I guess I just can't get a good mental image of it to figure out how I would do it.

I found a ring sling much easier, both for carrying and nursing.

You froggy their legs and put the rolled up blanket right under baby's bum.  It's kind of like a seat for their little bum.  Just put the ergo around your waist, hold baby chest to chest against you, insert the rolled blanky right under baby's bum then pull the body of the ergo over baby and buckle.

So it basically just sort of helps boost them up then? That sounds easy enough. I just can't justify $25 for the insert knowing I have big babies. I've been getting lots of practice using my Ergo with dd the last few weeks. She loves when I carry her on my back. Now I need to master using it for a newbie. :)

It is SO bad this time around. I think its the combination of a crazy toddler & pregnancy. I can't remember anything or ever think straight. Aghhh
