Do any of your kids have a pet in their classroom? What is it?

My son is in a 1-2 split class and the students are paired up. Each pair gets a Beta fish :) They take turns feeding it, and at the end of the year whoever wants it can have it.

Ours from last year is still on the island in our kitchen. I bought him a big bamboo plant, and he's in the large glass vase they sent him home in. We had the option of bringing him back, but my son wants him here.

That sounds like a great class pet!

Not this year.  Last year my oldest had frogs that they studied and watched.

In DD's pre-K class, there was a rabbit

In her kindergarten class and second grade classes they raised butterflies

this year I heard there's a hamster but he's not in the class room per say, I think he's in a common room for all 3 graders.
