I need help with picking outfits for pictures!

The kiddos are having their photos done 2 weeks from tomorrow. I just scheduled it today so I am sort of freaking out about how last minute it is & coming up with something in time.

DD has this sweater dress already, would this be cute for pictures?

Paired with white tights and either brown boots or brown mary jane type shoes.

The photographer is going to do pictures of the kids seperate and together. So I need to figure out what to put ds in. But I have NO idea what to put him in. He has cute dark wash jeans or khakis and brown shoes. But, I don't have any idea as far as a top for him.

Should I just nix the dress idea for dd and find them both something different to wear instead. Help?!

I think the sweater dress would be cute. Your son can be in whatever you choose.

Do you want them to match? Walmart has a purplish button down shirt for boys. http://www.walmart.com/ip/George-Boys-2-Piece-Dress-Shirt-and-Tie-Set/22267957

I saw that! Its out of stock in his size though. They don't have to match, but since they will be in pictures together I don't want them to clash either, you know?

They might be in store though. I'll keep looking.

Sears.com has some button down shirts that look nice. I think the dress is cute so I would work around that.

I would wear the shoes with the dress. khakis is what I would choose for your son.

I'm a photographer so maybe I can be of some help :)

Check out this article it's great for helping people decide what to wear :) http://paintthemoon.net/blog/2013/03/wear-clothing-tips-children-family-photo-sessions-paint-moon-photoshop-actions/

I think I am even more confused on what to do after reading that! LOL

Do you think the purple dress would be bad because of the big flower? I emailed the photographer but have yet to hear back.

I found a cream-ish colored sweater that zips up at the very top & has brown inside by the collar line that shows. I'm not sure I'm even describing it well lol. I almost grabbed that for DS to wear. I have a white button up shirt, khakis, & brown shoes for DS to wear as a backup. But I am not really sure that is "right" either. A friend suggested just solid white long sleeve shirts & dark jeans. But that just seems sort of blah to me. It would be fine if they could do an outfit change but I don't want them to wear something so plain for the whole shoot.

I think that's fine!

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you. Was only trying to help lol.

I usually just tell clients to stay away from stripes. And yeah, I think it would be too boring to wear a white button up shirt. That's the typical thing everyone thinks you should wear. And to me that's so old school haha.

Go with what you think is best, after all they will be your pictures. Pictures you will be displaying in your home. If there's a certain room your going to be displaying them in pick an outfit that would go good with those colors.
There's so many options you could do.
