consider "living above your means"?

ETA - My DH and I had a "discussion" about this this morning.  We live check to check, have no money left over for savings or anything we WANT to do, but we pay everything on time and have everything that we NEED.  He says we live above our means, I say we are living at our means - right on it.  LOL

living above your means:

1- your rent/morgage is more than 20% of your income

2- your bills and spending leave you with no money left over to put into savings.

3- You spend money of things that aren't necessary while other things that are necessary are neglected.
