Have you ever yelled at your child?

Last weekend my son kept throwing his head in the floor because he wanted more sweets after lunch and I said he could have fruit but no sweets. After 15 minutes of him throwing himself into things I got angry and afraid that he was going to do some real harm. I put him in the corner and yelled at him to stop. I feel so horrible even today. My parents always yelled at us and more and I never wanted to be that mom. Just last month I had to take him to Urgent when he did it at daycare on a tile floor and ended with a knot the size of a medium strawberry. I so hope I'm not going to far. He's 2.

Yes I have yelled at them. Sometimes for a good reason when they did something dangerous, sometimes for little things. I try not to do it often though

Yelling doesn't make you a bad parent. Sometimes you just have to, because I'm sorry, but talking sweetly to children all the time doesn't work.

Of course I've yelled:  I'm human.  I try not to yell but sometimes it happens.

I'm pretty sure every mom on this site has raised her voice at one point or another. It just happens.

Hugs!  Yes, I have yelled at my kids.  I wish I hadn't but I have.  No one is perfect.  Be gentle on yourself and work on techniques to keep your cool.
