How do you pray and what do pray for?
(This is not a controversial post. This is a curiosity post due to personal reasons)

I just talk to Jesus. Thanking him, telling him my fears and hopes

This exactly. I dont need others to pray. Or church to have a relationship with God. I'm always talking to him

I just talk to him like he is my best friend in the world. I dont need a church nor someone telling me what to do when it comes to my relationship with God.

A lot of times I just think very informal prayers, "God, please help me." etc.

Other times it's a more formal formula. I try to do a lot of the pattern Jesus taught in the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 5, but I use my own words that seem right at the time...
Praise God for being holy and greater than everything
Thank him for our daily blessings
Ask forgiveness for myself
Ask for protection from evil
Praise him for saving the world through His Son.

With my kids it's a simpler pattern we do before bed:
Dear God, Thank you for today, for our family and friends... Thank you for ______
and I let them fill in the blanks with 3-5 things they are thanful for.
Then we pray "please help us have good dreams in our bed all night long, and keep all the bad things out of our house."

I pray in conversation and lately I pray for strength because there is a lot going on. I find that I pray best when alone because I like to keep my private conversations private.

Hi ~ This is a great question ~

I pray very frequently. I always try to be hthankful for everything I have, especially grace.  I thank God for my kids and their health, etc.

I try to be specifici when I pray for something. For example if I am praying for someone who has cancer, I pray specifically that the tumor will shrink, etc.

Have you thought of maybe talking to someone about this in real life? Even if you dont' go to church, just call one and ask to speak with someone about how to pray. You can request a woman if you want.  I recommend calling a Church of Christ or a non-denominational one.

I don't really sit and pray. I talk to him whenever. Its more like a relationship. I thank him every night in bed though. He is always with me so I dont have a certain time to pray.
