Posted by   + Show Post
My now 2month old is forgetting to breathe while sleeping. He has done it every 2weeks and I'm starting to worry. While he is sleeping he is forgetting to breathe n starts acting like he is suffocating n he starts shaking n convulsing n then once I grab him he starts screaming n yelling n crying :/ he has a doc appt on wed.

Did your child of children do this? If so how did you handle it?

I have seen TV shows where newborns do that. quite often they need a little bit of time in a NICU to aid in their recovery.

He could also have reflux. His milk is coming up and catching his breath. This happen to my son and it took a specialist to diagnose it. We would run him to the ER because he would gasp for air. Never would happen when he was there. They would act like we were crazy. Here his muscle wouldn't stay closed when he would swallow so his milk would come up and catch his breath sometimes.

Let us know what the doctor says.

I agree with everyone else that it sounds like sleep apnea.
