Help, baby won't sleep

I recently had my 3rd child, she is 4 months old now and she won't stay asleep. The only way she will fall asleep when I walk around holding her and she will only stay asleep is if I continue to hold her or lay down with her. When I try to put her down or move away if I've been laying with her she wakes up immediately. I even tried the CIO method a few nights ago and she cried so hard it caused her to throw up. I don't know what to do, I'm starting to go a little crazy. I can't spend all day every day just walking around holding her. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated!

Have you tried swaddling her again since she seems to like to be snuggled?

What about a swing or vibrating bouncy chair?

Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child (Marc Weissbluth)

This book has fixed so many sleep problems for people I know, I can't stop recommending it.

I used his methods and have had three very successful sleepers.

(The two big things for me when mine wouldn't sleep is that they were either still hungry or cold. If they weren't hungry or cold, over-tiredness caused fussing, and that was remedied by putting them down - to sleep - earlier and longer.)

Maybe something with your scent on it like a blanket or something. Good luck.

Have you tried talking to her while you snuggled her.

A sling might help as well.

I recommend pitying looks at everyone who tells you to "enjoy this time."

Definitely swaddle! Mine liked having their arms out, but snuggly tight around tummy and legs made them very happy.

We did bed sharing (at night) with all 3 babies and LOVED it; bassinet/crib during the day. But the bouncy seat, sling, swing, etc. are GREAT! Whatever works.
