Anyone Ever Break Lent?

I am just curious...anyone ever break Lent? I was baptized and raised in the Episcopal church. I joined the Catholic church in college.

I was raised by a pretty strict Catholic mother who made sure it was fish on Fridays and no meat.

I other the hand am a bit loose with it. Just like a couple of weeks ago we went out to one of my favorite restaurants on a Friday and I love their fried chicken. I couldn't resist.

I am thinking tomorrow at one point I may want a really good cheeseburger as I haven't had one for a while. I will be eating oysters at one of my favorite places as I do love fried oysters and not just cause it's Friday during Lent.

Anyone else ever break the Lenten rules or am I the only one?

I've done well with giving up my french fries for Lent as I love those.

well your religion gives you the ability to ask forgiveness, so eat then repent. it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

OH wow ... yes !

I was raised Catholic but my family is not very devout ... we never followed lent / no eating meat on Friday thing ... it's not like you're gonna go to hell for eating a cheeseburger.  This is no longer the middle ages sister. Seriously ... if you feel really guilty about it, go to confession after (if that even still exists) I'm sure the priest won't be apalled by your sin of cheese burger eating !
